Marty Starkman
Marty is the founder of Sportstar Capital Inc. and is no stranger to making headlines. Marty has an expansive background in the clothing industry. He made his initial mark in the business world as ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’, in 1996. This prestigious award was given to him in honour of his efforts with the first garment company in Canada to produce wrinkle-free pants. Marty had grown the sales of the company by 3000% in just four short years.
In addition to his “fashion sense”, Marty’s keen interest in sports and the arts has catapulted him into new passion pursuits. His shrewd judgment of people, astute business acumen and dapper dress have helped him achieve unheard of results in these new endeavours. Digging deep into his small town Canadian roots, Marty has used his exceptional creativity, financial prowess and amazing ability to network to help produce a number of successful shows for various charities and Ontario cities and towns (Broadway still awaits him). It’s with this arsenal of skills, accrued from over 30 years of business experience, and good old Port Colborne charm (alongside a borderline fanatical love for sports), that Marty has identified the need for cultural and recreational enrichment in cities throughout Ontario. With proven success in Welland Ontario, it is Marty’s innate ability to build strong teams, cross-functional relationships and a financially sustainable business model that has earned Sportstar Capital Inc. a reputation for delivering great projects.
Marty’s passion and vision drive his team to deliver exceptional world class renewable projects that will stand the test of time and out-perform expectations. With his unique insight Marty has taken the time to assemble a stellar team of top tier industry professionals to deliver his vision to you.
